Remember the Tower in Tower Lane being demolished? The year was 1963 and it was demolished for safety reasons, but another old Spalding landmark gone! I remember 4 of us getting the job of demolishing it,, myself, Mick Rawlings, Terry Pridmore, and John Rawlings,
We took it down, removed the rubbish, capped the base , and cleaned the site all for the princely sum of £90, but it kept us in beer for a week or 2!
I think a Mr Enderby lived in the actual house at the time.
