Hi my great grand father John William Baker was the oldest licensee in the district and he ran the Steam Whistle for 46 years.
Thanks for the update. Regards Geoff
Hi Lorna
I am another one of John William Baker’s g’granddaughters and my mother remembered the big family Christmases at the pub.
Hi
I’m also a great granddaughter of John William Baker. My grandfather was his son Leonard who had a brother John Thomas Baker who sadly lost his life in the Somme during the First World War.
Thanks for memory- Geoff
