Winfrey Avenue Car Park seen from the Water Tower 1961

This view, taken from the Water Tower in Spalding show’s a very busy Winfrey Avenue Car Park in 1961. With so many coaches parked up, this would suggest it was taken during the Tulip weekend. In the bottom right of the photo can just be seen part of the old bus station cafe building.

What memories do you have of the Tulip Parade weekend, was you a visitor on one of these buses ? Also, what memories do you have of the old cafe ?

  1. During the 60s my Dad had a small coach company and I remember going with him to the Cafe on several occasions.

    1. Thanks Malcolm for input. Can you tell us more about the bus company? I think we sat almost next to one another in the hairdressers a few days ago I should of introduce myself
