Vandalism and old age collapse the bandstand in Spalding

Newspaper article about the day the old bandstand in Ayscoughfee Gardens, Spalding finally collapsed.

The bandstand, built to commemorate the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, was built in 1937 but was destroyed by mindless vandalism in the early 1970’s.

  1. Why can’t they make a new one & people play music to listen to. Would get more people into the gardens. Done a lovely job on the pond
