On my way home last night after giving a talk to the Gosberton WI. (The President gave one of the whitest address I have heard in a long time) We went into the Cod Squad fish and chips shop in Surfleet and to my surprise this collection of old photos was on the wall. All we need is caption to explain each picture.

Fascinated with the photos of Surfleet, and undertook a look at old OS Maps followed with an interesting morning finding the exact spot where the old photos were taken. (Did not look at the Surfleet Res spots, as these are rather difficult to access). I have a selection of photos taken at the exact spots, which make interesting viewing comparisons, but regret, do not know how to send them to you. Please advise, and I will be more than happy to send them via e-mail. Captions should be quite easy!

Why can I not find any history or old photo’s of Gosbertons Fish and Chip shop. Lots of people remember its existence, but I cannot find anything at all. Can anyone help?
