A very early view of St. Marys Church from the Victorian period on a carte de visite by J. Starbuck of Long Sutton. Dated around 1870-1880 maybe? I would think the photographer would have been John Bissell Starbuck who was living at 6 Market Street in 1881 (and who had various children born in the town in the 1870s). Though his father was also called John Starbuck (and who had photography studios at Boston earlier in the century) which does confuse things slightly.
Not sure who the person in the top hat is but he looks like a proper Victorian gent!
Thanks to John Wakefield
