  1. Hi, My name is John Royce. I think the two Turners in the photo are some how related to me, because the Captain John Turner mentioned was my Gt Gt Grandfather’s Step-Son. I have had a letter from Elizabeth Hall, saying Cpt. John Turner is her Gt.Grandfather, I’m looking for any pictures of My Great Great Grandfather Captain Thomas Royce 1813-1878, founder member of the Spalding Shipwreck Society. He owned & was landlord of the ” Angel Inn” 34-35 Double St, Spalding, and he owned 5 ships.

Can anyone help me find anything to do with the Royce family from 1800’s to the present..
    Many thanks John Royce.

  2. I am trying to piece together some information about Leslie Howieson (died July 2022), a former Navy man, and the Shipwreck Society was mentioned to me as a possible line of enquiry. He was a colleague of mine at Spalding Grammar School until about 1986, a very private man, and nobody seems to know a great deal about him. I’m ‘clutching at straws’, but do you by any chance have any information that might help me compose my tribute at the funeral?
