The Richardson shop was run by Thomas Richardson and Hugh Palmer until 1911 when the business partnership was dissolved leaving just Palmer running it until around 1915. Both had served apprenticeships as ironmongers but had little business experience when they set the shop up sometime around 1903. In 1915 Palmer moved to Little Downham and managed a bakery, but I don’t know who took the Holbeach shop on after then. Assumingly given that the signage states ‘Richardson’ this would date the photo 1903 to 1911.
Thanks please keep memories coming Geoff
