  1. I am a descendant of the Chattertons of the Spalding area. Please tell me what this tower is all about.

    1. I will do my best to find some information. It might take a couple of days. Is the Vine part of the surname linked to the captains which operated boats from the Port of Spalding?

      1. I don’t know much about the Vine family. My ancestor was Louisa Vine daughter of John Vine. Louisa married Michael Chatterton in Spalding in 1845. I think the Vines came from Werrington near Peterborough in the 18th century.

    2. I am Ian Chatterton, grandson of Alderman George William Chatterton after whom the tower is named. He was chairman of the water board for many years as well as being on the Holland County Council.

He lived at Fulney House for many years.

      1. Thanks, was he also a member of WdIDB as I have some picture of Mr Pick etc
        Regards
        Geoff

  2. I am Mike Chatterton a descendant of George William Chatterton’s Uncle John Chatterton and would very much like to make contact with Ian Chatterton to investigate the family tree.

  3. Hello
I am a descendant of the Chatterton family. I would love to have contact with either Michael Chatterton or Ian Chatterton. I have done the family tree, and would love to know if I am contacted to the Chatterton tower
