North Drove station building and goods yard, 1960

This was on the route of the Spalding and Bourne railway.

The station and line opened on the 1st August 1866, closed temporarily between 9 October 1880 and 1 February 1881, and closed permanently on 15 September 1958, although the line remained open for goods until 1964.

“Seen from the road, this is North Drove Goods Yard: the wide standage between the sidings indicates the room needed for the amount of traffic once dealt with. On the left, behind the M&GN fencing, is the former Weighbridge Cabin.”
