The Tulip Queen used to be crowned in Ayscoughfee Gardens by movie stars of the time and I used to be part of the dancers who performed on the stage. I attended ballet and tap classes in one of the downstairs rooms at Ayscoughfee and the stage was set up along the side of the room. This photo would have been one of the outfits.

When did Pete Murray crown the Tulip Queen. I helped with the little dancers.
Pat, I’ve checked the Newspaper Archive and the Crowning Ceremony was on Friday 23 April 1965. The Tulip Queen was 17 year old Monica Theaker.
