Mill at Goseberton Riesgate

Memories from David Gray Facebook page.
The Mill at Gosberton Risegate, Dobney’s Mill. now Healy & Dobney’s transport yard.

Shop and Post Office to right of  5Bells. My parents bought shop in March 1958 and sold it in march 1976.  Previous owners Gibson’s and prior to that Chipperfields.  Skelton’s had 5 Bells then. Followed by Goddard’s and Squances.   Apparently Alfred Haresign had his garage in buildings to left of this photo but must have been before 1958. It has already moved the other be side of the Risegate eau drain by then

It was my great Uncle Alfreds garage. My dad says the photo appears to be when he first set up the garage in the Five Bells yard, it was later to move the other side of the drain on to the main road through the Risegate.

Shows. What was our shop. 5Bells and buildings which were Garage then. We bought shop from Gibson’s and I think it was Chipperfields before that. Skelton’s had 5 Bells. The Goddard’s and Squances
