The dog belonged to my Grandfather who was Landlord of the ” Black Bull ” ,the public house on the main road directly facing the Fen Road. [ Known then as The Siding Road. ] The dogs name was Prince. The pub was a Warick & Stevens of Newark ales, stout and porter house
Hi. My mother Eunice Birch was born in Sidings Rd (b.1928) and I have always been led to believe that it was a cul-de-sac consisting of three tenanted cottages (possibly owned by the Caswell family) Another of the families living there 1930-1940 were called Ransome.

Error — Apologies it was not Stevens, it was Warick and Richardsons from Newark
