In this photo, we see horses and cattle ready to be judged at Deeping Show in the 1950’s.
This event was a two day rural extravaganza that was held on the first weekend of June. I believe the show started around 1945, and after 68 years of tradition it finally closed due to running costs in 2013.
What memories do you have of the show ?

I was just telling my son about the Deeping Show and how I used to enter the children’s cake decorating contest and the handwriting contest when I was primary school age. I actually won both several times! This was in the first half of the 1990s, I lived in Uffington. I have very fond memories of tractor rides, farm animal competitions, jam, cake, and flower arranging contests. I found this website because on reminiscing I thought it would be nice to take my son there one day, sad to see it no longer exists!
Thanks for memory- Geoff
