Captain Ferris C. Royce, Son of W.S.Royce MP. JP. owned the Bull Inn, He inherited it from his Mother’s Estate, when she died in 1934.. Captain Ferris Cleveland Royce ( in his will) offered his tenant Miss Orbell the option to purchase the Inn. I don’t the outcome of that.
Kind regards….John W.Royce ( Cousin of Royce Family , at Pinchbeck Hall)
From J.Royce…Sorry the last line of previous message should read.. I don’t know the outcome of that… Thanks.
P.S. To add.. Captain F.C. Royce also bought Rose Cottage, in Pinchbeck, when his Mother’s Estate went to auction in 1934, he paid £1,400 for the cottage.. The Sneath family of Money Bridge once lived at Rose Cottage.
I have a hand written letter from a lady called Orbell,, I’ll have to search around for it. Well she is married now of course , and her married name is Andrew. It appears I have a connection with the Andrew name in my family tree. I may start to research my family tree again through Ancestry.
My Gt. Gt. Grandad was a Master Mariner Captain Thomas Royce of 34,35 , Double St, Spalding, Lincs..He had 5 ships… His Son my Gt. Grandad was also a Master Mariner . Thomas Royce.. He died at 34, Double St. He let his housekeeper Matilda Hesketh stay there after his death in 1940. It was then to be sold , and proceeds shared between my Grandad’s relative. And yes I have been inside 34, Double St…
I have been inside Pinchbeck Hall. The house once owned by my Cousin William Stapleton Royce MP. JP Governor Designate of Tasmania.
