Broadgate House, Whaplode Drove in 1933 and 1990. Jabez Fletcher lived here with his 2nd wife Sarah Ann (Sally) Thorpe. His first wife Rosette Farrow disappeared leaving behind 2 small daughters and was eventually found having died in Boston workhouse in 1901. When Jabez died in 1934 the son and heir Benjamin took over the house and his mother Sally had to go and live with her daughter and husband my Grandma Laurina. Benjamin found out that the house had been remortgaged though, a case of ‘spend the kids inheritance’
