I worked in the Laboratory from 1976 as a trainee Shift Chemist, before moving on to Wissington factory. Great memeories of that time.
I dropped into the factory for a stop-gap 4-month temp job and was still working a campaign there 12 years later. I worked in the canteen and later, in the laboratory. I knew Rene and Edna and Dora and Linda in the canteen. They are in the photos above. Linda Hubbard crocheted me a blanket and I still use it.
Joe Dickinson trained me on the sugar despatch bench in the lab. He was a generous trainer and had a nice sense of humour.
I didn’t come on this website to look for the beet factory but I got waylaid.
