What scale is it? When my dad worked for the East Midlands Electricity Board in the 1950s, helping plan new overhead lines to local villages, he had access to Ordnance Survey maps up to 10 inches to a mile. Very useful, you might think, but the really big scale maps like these hadn’t been updated since the early part of the 20th Century, and it was surprising how many new buildings there were, and how many had been demolished.
