Designed as a creative and future-focused programme, it blends heritage, storytelling and the latest in AI technology into a hands-on learning journey.
At its core, the project introduces participants to cutting-edge AI tools and techniques, where they explore how historic photographs can be transformed into animated visual stories. Young people bring the past to life by enhancing heritage images, linking them together, and crafting meaningful narratives that connect local history with modern technology.
This programme is strengthened through the involvement of the AI Collective, a network of practitioners and educators who bring real-world insight into how AI is being used across industries today. Their role is to guide, mentor and expose participants to practical applications of AI, ensuring the learning is not just theoretical but relevant to future opportunities in education and employment. They explore how language, creativity and intention shape outcomes, gaining awareness of how AI interprets prompts and generates results. This builds critical thinking, digital confidence and a deeper sense of responsibility when engaging with emerging technologies.
By combining storytelling, history and technology, the project creates a space where creativity meets capability.
Overall, this initiative positions Chain Bridge Forge as a hub for digital inclusion, creativity and future skills, ensuring young people are not just consumers of technology, but active creators within it.

I took a text description of the original painting and asked AI to create a painting based on this description. The object was to see if AI would create a similar image. I presume AI must have had access to the original picture to generate these paints. So not sure these images are generated by original thought or a database of images. Can AI currently do original thought?

This painting was produced in Sainte-Adresse. The artist painted the view of Honfleur from his garden situated on the southern side of the Seine River. The people depicted are reputed to be members of Monet’s family, including his father, cousins, and his uncle. While the scene suggests an idyllic household, Monet’s relationship with his father was considerably strained in real life. The high viewpoint and typically equal horizontal portions accentuate the piece’s two-dimensionality, and rather than withdrawing into space, the composition appears to ascend parallel to the pictorial plane. The flat horizontal strips of color in the piece are evocative of Japanese woodblock prints. In fact, Monet was an avid collector of such artworks and was believed to have own a Japanese print that is very reminiscent of this image, even possibly inspiring its overall look. 

My description of the Mona Lisa is a portrait of a young woman of age , whose parents wanted to find her a suitable husband of good social and economic standing. She has a pensive expression. She looks a little bit amused and near laughter or maybe suppress laughter. The painting has subtle lighting and the background may not be the original setting, however she has been carefully posed to enhance her appeal.

Her eyes appear to be seeking as well the notion of marriage. Leonardo has carefully with great execution painted her hair and skin textures to perfection.

I would not dare say that the young lady resembles Leonardo da Vinci. She is a very feminine woman dressed well and obviously from a very affluent family.

Summer Programme

Project Title

Forging the Future: AI, Heritage and Storytelling

Project Overview

This proposal seeks funding to deliver a summer holiday programme at Chain Bridge Forge in Spalding, providing structured activities for young people that support skills development, community engagement and wellbeing.

The programme will engage 16 young people per session, delivered three days per week

(Monday, Wednesday and Friday) over a six-week period.

The project combines local heritage with the latest developments in artificial intelligence

(AI), enabling participants to explore creative storytelling while developing digital skills that are increasingly important for future employment and education.

Delivery will be supported by the AI Collective, providing access to current industry knowledge, alongside a structured learning approach known as AIology, which focuses on helping participants understand how to use and interact with technology in a responsible and creative way.

Project Aims

Supporting Approach: AI Collective and AIology

The programme will be delivered with support from the AI Collective, providing access to experienced practitioners and a collaborative learning environment.
Participants will be introduced to AIology, a structured approach which:

Supports independent thinking and creativity

This ensures that participants are not only using technology, but also developing confidence in how to engage with it effectively.

Provision of refurbished iPads for shared use Food and refreshments to support attendance

A supportive and inclusive learning environment

This approach helps remove barriers and supports wider participation from young people across the district.
