Spalding Gentleman Society – Detail from a painting by Albin of Fairfax house, later Holyrood House which stood next to Ayscoughfee Hall (note row of trees and garden entrance on right), sadly demolished. The painting is the latest item to be identified for conservation but will need grant funding as job for the specialists as it is painted on canvas that had a layer of newspaper pasted onto it, why I don’t know. Worth saving I think
