The Boat, Glenside, West Pinchbeck Very little information is recorded about the Boat. The only references to it in the directories are in 1892 and 1900 when Kelly’s list William Deaton as licensee. The photo on the right shows just how close these three public houses were. The Rose and Crown is the building on the extreme left which is at an angle to the others. The Boat rests in the middle and the Cross Keys is the rendered building left of the telegraph pole.

Hi Geoff,
Sorry I thought I replied yesterday, but it hasn’t appeared here, so maybe I did it wrongly!
I’m shortly moving to South Glenside and am very interested to know where the site of these pubs is now. I have a theory that may be wrong, that the pic might have been taken from the bridge where the B1180 crosses the Glen, looking North East toward Pinchbeck at South Glenside…. but I’d love to know if that’s right and/or see your pic.
Thanks,
Mark
Really? Great thanks. Where on glenside? We’re moving to south glenside not far from the “boarding bridge”.
Thanks
Mark
Hi
Sorry for the delay. I think you are right but wanted to check.
