Spalding MPs from 1802 to today:
• Between 1802 and 1832 Lincolnshire was served by two MPs.
• From 1832 to 1885 South Lincolnshire had its own two MPs.
• Spalding had its own MP from 1885 to 1918.
• From 1918 to 1983 the constituency’s name changed to Holland with Boston, with one MP.
• From 1887 to 1997 the name was changed to Stamford and Spalding and from 1997 were are now South Holland and The Deepings.
Sir John Hayes is now our longest serving MP and beat Sir Herbert Butcher’s total length of service in February this year.
