Described as the “The Cathedral of the Fens”. The Church has its origins in the late 13th Century when Gedney was a thriving port and its wealth is displayed in the Church. We had wonderful welcome and enjoyed this visit to their Flower Festival in 2018.
If you would like to read more of its history Welcome to the Church of St Mary Magdalene Gedney

We often pass Gedney church on our way home from the coast and wondered if there was any set time that us (the public) are allowed to have a walk round inside the building. It looks lovely from the exterior,
Many thanks,

Hi Philip
Virtual Tour of Gedney https://www.heritagesouthholland.co.uk/gedney-church-tour/
Step back on the website and you will find a number of virtual tours of the churches in the A17 corridor.
Normally these churches are open from 10 till 4.
Let me know how you get on with both tours.
Regards
Geoff
I have been researching my family
( The Pett, family) for many years. I have documented evidence back to the 1400’s. In Gosberton and Gedney for my Gr gr gr … etc John Pett. From this time on the Petts have a documented presence in Lincolnshire. Including me. I’am pretty sure that the Johanus Pete who built the brass lock was my Gr Gr Gr ….etc Grandfather John Pett. Which some websites on the builder of the lock call him. Kind regards. Julie Smith ( nee Pett)
Let’s hope some can help with more information. Regards Geoff
