Tasters in full swing

Age limits

For the introductory session, participants must be aged seven or over (accompanied by an adult). Participants in the half or full day sessions must be aged 13 or over.

How many?

Either an individual or two people can participate in the course. Spaces are limited and availability can be discovered the sales site.

Health considerations?

Blacksmithing is a physically demanding job. Every applicant will have to take into consideration that they will be on their feet for the whole day, working with metal and swinging a hefty hammer for the majority of their time.

Applicants with medical conditions such as bad backs, heart conditions or joint pain are strongly advised not to participate in the all day session.

What do you make…

The most common items to make in the introductory session is a coat hook. In the half day session we usually make a fire poker.

These items are fantastic for first timers as they cover a lot of basic skills and are great pieces to show off.

The full day will be a bespoke experience and you will probably make a couple of items during the day.

If you have a personal project you would like to do yourself then please call and we can make an arrangement on design and price. This also ensure we have the correct materials available.
